Zinc Plating

Shelby specializes in the stamping, forging and assembly of metal, and that includes the complete process from start to finish. So of course, we have in house zinc plating to give your metal that all important, shiny professional finish. We can plate anything from small custom volume jobs or large scale production runs. This is because we have a fully automated zinc plating line that is ideal for coating large or small parts. We have a special clear, alkaline zinc finish that offers an additional Supersealer bath to give your part hours of extra performance under the harshest conditions.

We have an exceptional washing and cleaning system complete with large scale de-greaser, and this is removes tough oils and debris, and also etches the metal with microscopic pores and roughness. This greatly enhances the bond between the zinc and the metal surface. All our zinc plated parts are treated to an extra clear chromate top coat and a silicate sealant for the final application, to lock everything in tightly and provide additional corrosion protection. And with our exceptional control over the entire process, right down to the exact temperature and the current voltage, we can apply variable thickness of zinc for your exact needs.

And after your plating cycle is done, we salt spray every single part to test for defects and make sure the zinc has a super strong bond and seal. You can be confident that each and every part will perform flawlessly under the harshest conditions when you utilize our zinc plating services.
